- Driving instructors cars.
Our driving instruction cars are always brand new.
The cars have air conditioning, height and depth adjustable seats and steering, as well as the latest safety devices.
- Our instructors are patient and calm and will not criticise or shout at a pupil.
Your will be taught to learn to drive using visual aids, demonstrations and diagrams.
Your progress will be recorded and measured with each driving lesson to ensure non-duplication of subjects.
You will receive an appointment card and learning materials as required.
If you feel nervous about learning to drive, we can use "Incremental teaching" to build confidence in quiet locations, before moving more busy environments.
You will not be "thrown in at the deep end". Our methods are gradual and progressive.
We will help you with your driving theory test preparations and show you how to apply for the driving test.
- The hours our driving instructors work.
We operate on a six day week, beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday. Lessons on Sunday and on weekday evenings are charged at normal rates.
We do not teach on Saturdays, although we sometimes will take pupils for driving tests on Saturdays, in certain rare situations. If you can't make a driving lesson, we need 24 hours notice, otherwise we may charge for the missed appointment. Changing a driving lesson at short notice, but to another day in the same week, may avoid the need for us to charge the missed lesson fee. - The three stages of learning to drive.
Our driving instruction programme has three main phases. These are set out below in order of priority.
Controlling the car on the road and negotiating minor junctions.
Driving on busier routes, dealing with dual carriageways and complex junctions.
Low speed manoeuvers and independent driving.
- Gordon Ross DSA ADI
Gordon has years of experience in teaching and holds qualifications in Health and Safety, as well as having nine years experience as a first aider. Many people have said that Gordon is one of the calmest and most patient instructors on the roads today. His teaching style is relaxed and informal, and he begins each lesson with a review of the pupil's progress or experience to date. This allows him to set the appropriate level for the lesson and ensures the pupil is learning something new, but following on from previous knowledge.
